Documentary Newborn Sessions in Sussex County, New Jersey

Welcoming a new baby is a once-in-a-lifetime moment — every single time. The days are tender, fleeting, and full of quiet transformation. I’m experienced in working with families during the postpartum season and approach newborn sessions with care, patience, and deep respect for this sacred transition. My goal is to document your growing family in a way that feels calm, natural, and completely stress-free.

I offer both in-home and on-location newborn sessions. See below for a more in-depth overview.

About Newborn Sessions

Tender family moment as parents and children cuddle together on a bed.

I come to you with one simple intention: to document this tender new chapter of your family’s story. These sessions are documentary in nature — unposed, unrushed, and centered on real life with your newborn.

Rather than directing or staging moments, I quietly observe and photograph the rhythms of your day: rocking your baby to sleep, bath time in the sink, soft snuggles on the couch, diaper changes, feedings, and the in-between moments that so often fade too quickly. There’s no pressure for perfection — just space for you to be present with your baby.

The result is a collection of honest, meaningful images that reflect what this season actually feels like — preserving the connection, emotion, and details of your growing family exactly as they are.

Is a Documentary Photo Session right for me?

This session is designed for families who value photographs as heirlooms — images meant to be returned to, passed down, and treasured long after the newborn days have faded.

You may find this experience especially meaningful if:

• You want photographs that hold history, not trends

• You’re drawn to imagery that will feel just as powerful decades from now

• You care more about legacy and connection than perfectly posed moments

• You want to preserve the way this season truly unfolded — the routines, the tenderness, the quiet bonds forming

• You believe your family’s everyday life is worthy of being documented

These sessions are slow, intentional, and baby-led. They honor the small moments that often become the most significant over time — the way you hold your baby, the rooms where your early days together were lived, the love that surrounds your growing family.

This session may not be the right fit if you’re looking for a studio-style or trend-driven newborn experience. My work is rooted in timeless storytelling, creating photographs that will live beyond albums and frames and become part of your family’s visual legacy.
